The Crystal Baton Mini is not trying to be a serious practice tool. It is a tiny, satisfying object you carry everywhere and pull out whenever you feel like it — waiting for the bus, sitting in a café, between sets at a show. Small enough to forget it is there. Hard to put down once you pick it up.

Everything that makes the full-sized Crystal Baton optically interesting is still here. The fully transparent PMMA spheres still act as convex lenses. Isolated correctly, the image through the ball still floats. The grip ring is still there at the centre. The obsession with clarity did not get smaller — just the prop did.

At 30 cm and 77 g per piece, it spins fast, feels light, and looks quietly beautiful in hand. Designed by Ian Jenson — who carries one not to practice, but to think.
